With a background in industrial design and entrepreneurial experience, he has spent the latest part of his career developing bio-materials and cultivation techniques that represent a new frontier in a creative partnership with the microcosm. His work bridges high-tech innovation with accessible applications, creating sustainable solutions around bio-materials, food systems, and environmental remediation.

As a creative entrepreneur, Sven is busy transforming traditional mycology into dynamic applications encompassing design, manufacturing, education, and environmental services. His collaborative approach is inspired by observing and trying to understand living systems, applying nature’s principles of interconnection and symbiosis to business and innovation to create economic value and address real-world challenges.  Through Afrifungi’s workshops and training programs, he’s building a new ecosystem of creative practitioners who are developing innovative applications for fungi across industries—from sustainable packaging and textiles to food security and soil regeneration.
