Marcus Baliso is the Head of InvestSA Gauteng, One Stop Shop which is part of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) which is at the heart of Economic Growth initiatives in the Gauteng Province. Before joining InvestSA Gauteng, he was the former Director of Trade and Investment of the City of Johannesburg’s Economic Development. The strategic role he plays is in the attraction and facilitation of foreign and domestic investments into Gauteng’s economy in collaboration with several partners. His role requires that he engage private and public sector partners at various platforms and lead a team of officials to address investor challenges. He has lead the development and implementation of various interventions that aim to boost exports. 

Marcus’ experience also includes The Department of Trade Industry and Commission’s Investment and Spatial Industrial Development division for 6 years working on the attraction and facilitation of investments into Resource Based Industries (Mining, Mineral Beneficiation, Agroprocessing, Aquaculture and Agriculture)
